Visual Arts with Arts for All

Through residencies with Arts for Fall, students have the opportunity to explore the world of visual arts. They tap into their creativity while developing new artistic skills and techniques, experimenting with different materials, and expressing their ideas through hands-on projects. These experiences help children grow as artists and problem-solvers, while fostering imagination, confidence, and joy in making art.

Third Street Music School

In partnership with Third Street Music School, every student at PS 15—grades PK through 5—experiences the joy of music. Our first and second graders explore music appreciation and begin learning instrumentation, while third and fourth graders dive into the rhythm and energy of drumming. By fifth grade, students bring it all together in Chorus, developing their voices and performing as an ensemble. Through these rich experiences, children gain not only musical skills but also confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong love of the arts.

Soccer Program

Students in grades 3–5 have the chance to build teamwork, perseverance, and school spirit through our after-school soccer program. In addition to practicing skills and strategy, they proudly represent PS 15 as they compete in the District 1 Soccer Tournaments. The program gives children the opportunity to stay active, challenge themselves, and experience the excitement of competition in a supportive, team-focused environment.

Gardening with The Hort

In partnership with The Hort and with sponsorship from Councilwoman Carlina Rivera, our students bring learning to life through hands-on gardening! Across grade levels, children roll up their sleeves, dig into the soil, and discover the joy of growing and caring for plants. This experience not only connects them to nature, but also builds responsibility, teamwork, and pride as they watch their gardens bloom.

Hip Hop with Accent Dance (Grades 3–4)

Students in grades 3 and 4 will dive into the energy and rhythm of hip hop through Accent Dance. This program gives children the opportunity to explore a dynamic dance style, strengthen teamwork, and develop perseverance—all while having fun and building confidence on the dance floor.

Chess in the Schools

Through our partnership with Chess in the Schools, students develop critical thinking, focus, and problem-solving skills while learning the timeless game of chess. Whether they are just beginning or already experienced players, children build patience, strategic thinking, and confidence as they play. Chess also fosters sportsmanship and perseverance, teaching students to learn from every move and celebrate growth along the way.
